CHRIST THE KING

NORMS FOR THE JUDGEMENT

There was a local coffee shop in a village, two farmers were arguing about the validity of their respective religions. A third farmer listened for a while and then he said out load, “I have been bringing my wheat here to this same mill for over 40 years. Now, there are two roads that lead to the mill. Never once, friends, has the miller asked me which road I take. He just asks, “Is your wheat good?”

There are different paths that discover eternal life. We have to recognize the truth in every religion. At the same time, what is important is to practice the religion in which we believe. The question that God will ask on the final day is not to which faith you belong, rather He will ask: “I was hungry and did you give me food? I was thirsty and did you give me a glass of water to drink? I was stranger and did you welcome me? I was naked and did not give me clothing? I was sick and did you take care of me? I was in prison and did you visit me? All these questions can be summarized in one; “did you serve me? All of us will have to answer this question at the final judgment. So do not hesitate to love others with all your strength, power and might. Do acts of charity to everyone in need whether Christian or not. Imagine that you are called to serve others and look upon the needy as if they are Christ our Lord in prison.

Feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, visiting the sick and clothing the naked are unspectacular activities. They are the works that make us Good Samaritan. The good works we are doing for the poor and needy are of great value in the final judgment. So do whatever good deeds you can, wherever you can with whatever things you have. You will be rewarded and you will be the children of God.

Today Holy Catholic Church is celebrating the feast of Christ the King. A king without a nation but yes he was indeed a king Christ the King, king of peace, king of love, king of mercy so on. He was a king with a distinction that he won the whole universe by his sacrificial death. So even today people around the world sing “hails Christ the Victor” he was s king with a mighty power that he conquered the soul of the great emperors of this world. He was a king with merciful heart that he could show mercy to all especially the suffering people.  Let us also learn from this great king who is our model, example and our way of life.
